Racier and better suited to groomed runs than the 12 ft’s the 10’s are best on harder packed snow. Their narrower profile makes for quicker edge-to-edge reactions which are great when you’re feeling frisky and want a livelier ride. As an all-mountain ski I’d go for the 12’s but the 10 ft’s are smooth [...]

A new intro model for 2008/9, the 8ft is the tiddler in the family, Volkl prefer the “entry into the Champions League of skiing” line. One of the main differences is the “sleeker” profile of 69 mm underfoot, something more akin to the traditional “Supersport” range which was such a resounding and ground-breaking [...]

Good all-rounders but I really do prefer the Powerswitch version. The feel of the Tiger’ 12 ft’s is lighter, easier and more forgiving but they don’t inspire the expert like the Powerswitch version. If you are a competent advanced skier and looking for a prestige all-mountain ski then the standard 12’s will be [...]

Tame Tigers. The 10 ft without Powerswitch is the more frugal option but the teeth are dulled somewhat. They are pleasant and an advanced skier who can tear down a red and is competent on blacks will enjoy them. Sharpen your card, flex your plastic and splash out for the ‘Switch if [...]

Whippy, bullish and snappy. Tigershark 10 ft’s like all the Tigershark range are best skied with the Powerswitch "on" or moved to the new "Dynamic" position. Unless you had a particularly hefty Tartiflette or Gemknodel at lunch then you will enjoy the punch the Powerswitch offers.
Racier than the 12 ft’s the [...]

What were Volkl doing leaving this ski pretty much untouched for another year? They were thinking very lucidly and why tinker with a ski that is as smooth, versatile and powerful (especially with the Powerswitch “On”) as the Tigershark 12ft PS.
With the switch “off” I am not as sold on the Tigershark 12ft [...]

Not quite the tiddler (British English for a small fish) in the range but the starting point for the impressive new TigerShark range from Volkl. Although this model doesn’t feature two of the main points of the range, the Kromica finish (which may suit less ostentatious types) or the power Switch, the TS 10 [...]

Sharing the Kromica finish and the slippery quick shaping of the 10 ft Power Switch the new Tiger Shark 10 ft is a great all-terrain to piste ski for the advanced skier. The main difference between the two is that you can select a more aggressive position with the switch and its corresponding carbon [...]

Check out the review for the TigerShark 12 ft with the Power Switch. The only difference here is the expensive carbon channels and the switch that operates them. If you are an advanced skier or expert and perhaps don’t want such an aggressive ride or the ultimate in Volkl technology then grab this 12 [...]

These skis are expensive but you can see and feel the quality in the top sheet, the aesthetic and finish of the actual edges and base when they [...]
